Finalize your SRS course preferences in your UAC application by midnight on 3 November 2022. Some institutions may specify an earlier date: institution-specific SRS requirements.
SRS offers will be emailed to successful applicants on 11 November (November Round 1).
The Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) is one-way institutions make early offers of undergraduate admission to Year 12 students. They do this by using criteria other than (or in addition to) the ATAR.
Who can Apply Schools Recommendation Scheme?
To apply for SRS you must be a Year 12 applicant who is attempting one of the following:
- an Australian Year 12 qualification in 2022
- an International Baccalaureate in Australia in 2022.
You must also be:
- a UAC applicant for undergraduate admission in 2023
- an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or the holder of an Australian permanent resident humanitarian visa.
Schools Recommendation Scheme Institution criteria
Participating institutions may use one or more of the following criteria listed when considering your application:
- your Year 11 studies (IB and interstate students will need to upload a PDF of their Year 11 school report)
- your school’s rating of your abilities in different areas of study
- your school’s rating of your aptitudes
- your Educational Access Schemes (EAS) application (if applicable)
- institution-specific documents (if applicable).
Institutions will then make offers based
- solely on SRS criteria
- on both SRS criteria and ATAR/selection rank
- on SRS criteria and ATAR and equity criteria.
Each institution has its own policy for determining SRS eligibility and making offers. For example, you may also have to submit an EAS application on institution-defined dates or attend a school in a particular region.
SRS is not available for all courses. The institution-specific SRS criteria detail any exceptions.

Steps To Completing Your Srs Application
Before you can apply for Schools Recommendation Scheme, you need to apply for undergraduate admission through UAC. When you do, you’ll be issued a UAC application number, which you’ll need to commence your SRS application.
There are no fees to apply for SRS, but there is a processing fee when you apply for undergraduate admission through UAC.
- Log in to the SRS application using your UAC application number and PIN. A series of questions and prompts will then guide you through the application process.
- Enter your Year 11 studies, if prompted to do so in your application.
Applicants in the NSW and ACT school systems: You usually don’t have to provide results of your Year 11 studies with your SRS application as UAC obtains them directly from the relevant educational authorities. If you are not prompted to enter your Year 11 studies or to provide documents there is no need to do so.
All other applicants (including all IB students): Enter the details of your Year 11 studies and upload a PDF of your Year 11 school report. If you don’t have the PDF ready to upload when you first apply, upload it later by logging back in to SRS Check & Change (which you also access from the UAC website). You must upload your school report in order to have your studies assessed and considered by institutions as part of your SRS application. Uploaded documents cannot be edited or deleted but can be replaced up to three times. - Upload institution-specific documents, if required.
- Review your application summary.
- Accept the declaration.
- Download your Confirmation of Application.
You can only submit one SRS application.
Nominating your course preferences
You don’t need to nominate any courses in your SRS application because it is automatically linked to your list of course preferences in your UAC application for undergraduate admission.
What to Do After You Apply For Schools Recommendation Scheme
After you apply, download and check your SRS confirmation package carefully. It contains a full record of your application and instructions on uploading any outstanding supporting documents through SRS Check & Change.
SRS Check & Change allows you to:
- access your application summary
- upload or replace supporting documents
- download your SRS Confirmation of Application.
Log in to SRS Check & Change with your UAC application number and PIN
If you’re a student in the NSW and ACT school system you usually won’t see your Year 11 studies in SRS Check & Change. All other applicants who have entered their Year 11 studies manually will be able to see them. You can’t delete any Year 11 studies details you’ve entered in your application, but you can add details and upload supporting documents up to three times.
All supporting documents must be uploaded. Do not post or deliver documents to UAC.
Check & Change is free and available between 7.30 am and midnight (Sydney time) seven days a week.

- institution-specific documents: Check each institution’s SRS criteria to find out if you need to upload these documents.
