How to Apply for Great Lakes Regional University
Great Lakes Regional University admission form is open to all school leavers, Non-school leavers and special cases qualified applicants irrespective of colour, race, ethnic identity, religion, gender, or Region.
Potential students may apply to any of the Great Lakes Regional University undergraduate, Great Lakes Regional University postgraduate, masters, diploma, doctorate, bachelors, pre-masters, Great Lakes Regional University distant education learning, Great Lakes Regional University International, Great Lakes Regional University Ph.D. programs (Courses) at any time and be admitted subject to fulfilling all Great Lakes Regional University Entry Requirements.
The application procedure is simple!
- Just fill in the application form that is available at the main campus in Kanungu and submit it to the Academic Registrar at the main campus in Kanungu or email it to [email protected]

Great Lakes Regional University Entry Requirements
MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor’s degree: At least two principal passes at Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent and Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes or diploma with at least a credit from a recognized institution.
- An ordinary diploma: Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least 1 principal pass and two subsidiaries obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent and Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes.
- An ordinary certificate: Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 3 passes obtained at the same sitting.
FEES STRUCTURE
A) TUITION FEES
The current tuition fees per semester is given as follows:
- Ushs679,000 for a degree programme
- Ushs349,000 for a diploma programme
- Ushs259,000 for a certificate programme

Any qualified applicant for admission qualifies to compete for a limited number of the Chancellor’s entrepreneurs’ scholarships.

FUTURE SCIENCE TEACHERS’ LOAN FUND
The Schendels have introduced a “Future Teachers Loan Fund” to support academically high-performing students, but who cannot afford university fees, to study science education at Great Lakes Regional University.

INTAKES: MARCH, JUNE, AUGUST
You may apply to join the University in the regular intakes in March, June and August of every year. However, in-service programmes of study for teachers start during the school holidays in January and May every year.
STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
University students may apply to reside on campus in the female and male hostels. Students also opt to become non-residents and lave in rooms within the vicinity of the University campus.
