What is RPF SI exam?

The Ministry of Railways conducts the RPF SI exam to identify eligible male and female candidates for recruitment to the job of Sub-Inspectors (SI) in Level 6 of the 7th CPC in the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Forces (RPSF) in various zones of Indian Railways.

RPF SI Dates 2024

The examination authority is yet to announce RPF SI dates. Once the dates are announced, they will be updated in the table below:

RPF SI 2024 Notification 

RPF SI notification is released to invite candidates for the post of Sub-Inspectors (SI) in Level 6 of the 7th CPC. The recruitment is open for both male and female candidates. RPF SI Recruitment is done for Group A, B, C, D, E & F. RPF SI notification comprises details such as eligibility, important dates, the application process, exam pattern, syllabus, and many more.

RPF SI Application Process 

RPF SI application form 2022 will be released online. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for RPF SI 2022. Candidates are required to fill out only one RPF SI 2022 application form. The application fee for RPF SI is INR 500 for unreserved categories while it is INR 250 for reserved categories.

RPF SI Eligibility Criteria 2024

The eligibility criteria of RPF SI provide details regarding age, educational qualification, and nationality. Candidates can check below RPF SI eligibility:

• A candidate must be a citizen of India
• Any graduate candidate can apply for the exam
• The age of candidates should be between 20 to 25 years

Filling the RPF SI Application Form

RPF SI application forms are required to be submitted online only through the official website. Candidates candidate need to submit only one application form. RPF SI application form is required to be filled in English only. The application fee is INR 500 for Unreserved categories while is INR 250 for Reserved categories.

Release of RPF SI Admit Card

RPF SI admits card is made available online separately for CBT, PET & PMT, and Document Verification. Candidates need to download their admit cards by logging into the required credentials.

Appearing in RPF SI CBT

The CBT will be held for 90 minutes and comprises 120 objective-type questions from General Awareness, Arithmetic, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The total marks allotted to the test are 120.

Declaration of RPF SI Result

RFI SI result is released online separately for different groups, A, B, C, D, E, & F. The result PDF is released in the form of a merit list. RPF SI result displays the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Based on the merit in CBT, candidates 10 times the number of vacancies are called for PET and PMT.

Appearing in PET, PMT & Document Verification

It is mandatory to pass the PET and it is qualifying in nature. Based on the performance of candidates in the CBT, PET & PMT, they are called for Document Verification.

Final Selection

The appointment to the post of RPF SI is subject to passing the requisite medical fitness test, final verification of educational and category certificates, verification of character and antecedents of candidates, and successful completion of initial training.

RPF SI Exam Centres

The examination authority releases the list of RPF SI test cities along with the notification. RFP SI exam centers are distributed division-wise under certain groups-A, B, C, D, E, F. Candidates applying to the railway zones under these groups, will be allotted exam centers coming under that particular region.

RPF SI Exam Pattern 2024

RPF SI exam pattern 2022 for CBT is such that it is divided into three sections-General Awareness, Arithmetic, and General Intelligence & reasoning. Besides Hindi and English, the CBT will be conducted in regional languages. The exam pattern will carry a total of 120 questions for 200 marks. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. Candidates qualifying for the CBT are called for PET/PST.  It is mandatory to clear the PET and it is qualifying in nature.

The tips and tricks to crack RPF SI exam are given below:

• Candidates must go through the exam pattern and syllabus
• After going through the topics given in the syllabus, candidates must clear the concepts of each and every topic
• Candidates must refer to a good book or study material to prepare for RPF SI
• Candidates must devote equal time to each section of RPF SI exam as it will help them to complete the entire syllabus

RPF SI Admit Card 2024

RPF SI admit card is released separately for different groups and stages of selection-Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and Document Verification. To download RPF SI admit card, candidates need to enter their registration number and password. RPF SI admits card carries details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, date of birth, exam center details, exam date, and many more. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post.

RPF SI Exam Day Guidelines

The exam day guidelines for RPF SI exam are given below:

• Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, Bluetooth, pen drives, laptops, calculators, wrist-watches or any other communication devices are not allowed inside RPF SI exam center
• Candidates are not allowed to carry pens/pencils inside the exam center
• Candidates need to carry RPF SI admit card to the exam center. Without the admit card, candidates are not allowed to appear for the exam
• Carry one photo-identity proof (both original and photocopy) along with the admit card
• Candidates should reach the exam centre early to complete the verification process
• No candidates are allowed to enter the exam hall once the exam begins
• Candidates must bring one color photograph along with the admit card

RPF SI Preparation Tips 2024

The provisional RPF SI 2022 answer key will be released for Computer Based Test (CBT) a few days after the completion of the test. Along with the answer key, the window to raise objections and question papers will also be made available. Candidates can access RPF SI answer key through the login window. Objections against the answer key will be accepted online only within the specified deadline.

RPF SI Result 2022

RPF SI result 2022 will be declared online separately for different groups, A, B, C, D, E and F. The result will be made available in PDF form and it will display the roll numbers of qualified candidates. To qualify the CBT, candidates need to secure the category-wise qualifying marks decided by the examination authority.The selection of candidates will be done completely on the basis of their merit.

RPF SI Cutoff 2022

RPF SI Cut off 2022 will be released along with the scorecard separately for Computer-Based Test (CBT) and final selection. To qualify the CBT, candidates need to secure the category-wise qualifying marks and overall cutoff marks. There is no qualifying marks for PET/PMT, however, it is mandatory to qualify it. The cutoff is released separately for male and female candidates.

RPF SI Vacancies 2022

The details regarding the vacancies will be announced along with the notification. In 2018, a total of 1,120 vacancies were announced for both male and female candidates.

RPF SI Salary 2022

Selected candidates will be in level 6 of the 7th CPC with initial pay of INR 35,400. Besides, candidates are also entitled to various allowances as per the government rules.
