Managing Your UAC Postgraduate Application
After you apply, you can log back into your application to make changes, upload documents, complete any required questionnaires and track the progress of your assessment.
Authorizing someone to act for you
Your application and the information within it are confidential. For privacy reasons, we cannot discuss information relating to your application with anyone but you.
You can authorize another person to act on your behalf and speak to UAC about your application. To do so, select this option on the Personal Details page of your application.
If you need to change the name of the person you authorize to act on your behalf, please submit an online enquiry and include the new authorized person’s details.
(For international applicants this person can be a different person or the same person as the agent who may be helping you with your application and visa formalities.)
The person you authorize cannot accept an offer on your behalf. For details on how to authorize someone to accept an offer on your behalf, contact the relevant institution.
USING AN INTERNATIONAL AGENT
If you’re an international Year 12 student applying through an agent, you will be asked to enter your agent’s unique identification code (UACID) during the application process for each institution you apply for. You can add, change or delete your agent’s UACID later, if necessary.
Your agent can access information about your application by clicking the ‘Apply or log in’ button at the top of the page, selecting ‘International agents’, and logging in.
How to upload documents
If you need to provide supporting documents, you will be prompted to do so in your application. The required documents will also be listed in your Confirmation of Application, which you can download when you complete your application.

Before you start
- Once you’ve uploaded your documents, you can view them, but you can’t edit or delete them.
- If you want to replace a document you have uploaded for a course preference, just upload the new document and make sure it is clearly marked with your full name, application number, course code and document type. You can’t remove the original.
- You can upload up to five documents for each qualification or course preference. If you want to provide more, contact the institution directly.
- All course-specific documents must include your full name, UAC application number, course code and document type.
- Your documents can’t be uploaded by referees or other third parties.
Instructions
- Log in to your application.
- To upload course-specific documents, go to the course preferences section. Any required documents will be listed under ‘Course-specific requirements’. Select ‘Upload’ and follow the prompts to upload your PDF file.
- To upload documents related to your qualifications, go to the qualifications section. Select ‘Upload’ for each document you are required to upload and follow the prompts to upload your PDF file.
- To upload documents related to citizenship, date of birth or a change of name, go to the personal documents section. Select a document type and follow the prompts to upload your PDF file.
Document specifications
- The name of your document must be 40 characters or less.
- All documents must be PDF files. If your document isn’t a PDF file (eg photo, Word doc), you need to convert it. You can use UAC’s document conversion service – simply attach the document file to an email addressed to conv2pdf@uac.edu.au. For each attached file you’ll receive an email back with a converted PDF file. Note that we can’t receive emails exceeding 11 MB; if your attached documents are too big, you won’t receive a response. There are also many document conversion packages available on the web.
- Each PDF document must be smaller than 5 MB. If your PDF document file size is bigger than 5 MB, you’ll need to reduce it to upload your document. You may be able to do this by lowering the resolution of the PDF file and any images it contains.
Important note for Apple users: If you’re using an Apple computer with an OSX version less than 10.8, do not use its built-in PDF software to prepare PDF documents. Documents created or saved using this software and uploaded will be not viewable.
YOUR UAC APPLICATION NUMBER AND PIN
After you apply, you’ll need your UAC application number and PIN to log back in to your application and to view your offers. You can’t use an application number from a previous year. If you’re a 2022 NSW HSC applicant, you also need your UAC PIN to access your ATAR.
Application number
When you complete the personal details section of your application, you’ll be emailed your nine-digit 2022–23 UAC application number and your four-digit PIN. Your application number will also be recorded on your Confirmation of Application.
UAC PIN
2023 NSW HSC applicants/ACT Year 12 applicants
Your UAC PIN was emailed to the address you registered with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) or the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (ACT BSSS).
Keep your UAC PIN in a safe and secure place and don’t give it to anyone else. For security reasons, recommend that you log in to your application and change your PIN after you’ve applied.
If your PIN doesn’t seem to be working, check that you are using your UAC PIN and not your NESA PIN.
