Program Details
The dtic Internships 2026 provide practical workplace training to boost your career. You will learn about government systems and help create a competitive South African economy. The program lasts two years and pays a monthly stipend of R7 860.50, which may change based on your highest qualification.
Fields covered include Public Management, Business Management, Human Resource Management, Communication, Law, Software Development, Economics, Statistics, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, Accounting, Risk Management, Internal Auditing, Natural Sciences like Microbiology and Biotechnology, Mining Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Supply Chain Management, and International Politics. You need a tertiary qualification at NQF Level 6 or higher in one of these areas.
Who Can Apply
To join the dtic Internships 2026, you must meet these basic rules. First, be an unemployed South African graduate. Second, hold a qualification at NQF Level 6 or above. You should also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, show professionalism and integrity, be analytical with good attention to detail, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and be eager to learn government processes.
The department follows employment equity goals. It gives preference to African males and people with disabilities to meet its targets.

What to Include in Your Application
Make sure your application is complete to avoid rejection. Include a completed and signed new Z83 Form from www.gov.za/documents. Add a detailed CV that lists your final year modules or subjects. Do not send certified documents at first; only shortlisted candidates need them.
Foreign qualifications require evaluation by SAQA. Late or incomplete applications will not count. If you hear nothing in three months, assume you were not selected.
