What is CTET 2024 Exam?
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test is abbreviated as CTET. It is an eligibility test conducted by the CBSE every year to determine the eligibility of Classes 1–8 teachers. We can say that CTET determines the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers for Classes 1 to 8 in the Central Government School, including KVS, NVS, etc. CTET 2022-23 is the 16th edition exam, which began on December 28, 2022, in computer-based test (CBT) mode. The CTET 2022-23 exam will be held in several shifts for Paper 1 and Paper 2 on different dates. The CTET’s validity has been extended for a lifetime period.
What is CTET 2024 Paper 1 and Paper 2?
Candidates who want to teach from Classes 1-5 (Primary Teachers) appear for CTET Paper 1 and those who want to teach Classes 6-8 (Elementary Teachers) appear for CTET Paper 2. Candidates who wish to teach Classes 1-8 need to take both papers.

CTET 2022-23 Admit Card
The CBSE will release the CTET 2022-23 admit card for the January 9, 2024 exam and further exams two days before the CTET exam. CBSE released the CTET 2022-23 admit card on the official website at ctet.nic.in on December 26, 2022. Candidates can download the CTET admit card by using their application number and date of birth. The CTET 2022 admit card can also be downloaded directly from here.
CTET 2024 Exam Date
The CBSE released the CTET 2022–2024 admit card on December 26, 2022 and the pre-admit card on December 20, 2022. The CTET 2022–2024 exam was started from December 28, 2022. A direct link to check the CTET 2022–23 exam schedule is provided below.
CTET 2024 Pre-Admit Card Out
The CTET 2022–23 pre-admit card was released on December 20, 2022, on the official website ctet.nic.in. Candidates who have filled out the application for the CTET exam online can download their hall ticket from the direct link provided below.
CTET 2024 Certificate and Marksheet
CBSE will provide CTET mark sheets to all candidates and eligibility certificates to successful candidates in Digital Format in their DigiLocker account. The mark sheets and eligibility certificates will be digitally signed and will be legally valid as per the IT Act. The mark sheets and eligibility certificates will also contain an encrypted QR Code to enhance security. The QR code can be scanned and verified using the DigiLocker mobile app.
The DigiLocker accounts of all present candidates will be created and the account credentials will be conveyed to the candidates on their mobile numbers registered with CBSE. The candidates will be able to download their digital mark sheet and eligibility certificates using the communicated credentials. The Validity Period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be for lifetime for all categories.
CTET 2024 Notification
The CTET notification will be announced by the CBSE on its official website. The CTET 2024 notification was issued on October 20, 2022. CTET 2024 Application Fee
A candidate who belongs to the General or OBC category is required to pay Rs. 1000 (if applying for either Paper 1 or Paper 2) and Rs. 1200 (if applying for both papers). The candidates belonging to the SC/ST category are required to pay Rs 600 (if applying for Paper 1 and Paper 2) and Rs 600 (if applying for both papers).

CTET 2024 Selection Process
Those candidates who will appear for CTET 2024 will be shortlisted on the basis of their score in the CTET 2024 Online Exam. It should be noted that the CTET is an eligibility test, which means that it is only qualifying and does not guarantee the aspirants a job. They need to apply for recruitment at several schools based on the available vacancies, which require CTET certification, for which aspirants must score more than or equal to 60% in order to get selected.

CTET 2024 Exam Pattern
The CTET 2024 exam will be held in two phases, namely;

Paper 1 is for those candidates who want to become teachers for classes 1 to 5, and Paper 2 is conducted for candidates who want to become teachers for classes 6 to 8. CTET 2024 Exam Pattern for Paper 1
consists of a total of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) that candidates need to attempt in two and a half hours duration. The paper is conducted in online mode as a computer-based test. The CTET question paper contains questions from the five sections as mentioned below:

What types of questions are asked, and what is the nature of the questions in CTET Paper 1?
Language I focuses on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction.
Language II focuses on the elements of language, communication, and comprehension abilities.
What is important to note is that Language II will be a language other than Language I. An aspirant can choose any one language as Language I and another as Language II from the available language options. This is required to be specified on the confirmation page as well.
In Mathematics and Environmental Studies focus will be on the concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects.
The questions in the test for Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT for classes I – V but their difficulty standard as well as linkages, could be up to the Secondary stage.
CTET 2024 Exam Pattern for Paper 2
CTET Paper 2 comprises four subjects Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Sciences. Paper 2 contains a total of 150 objective-type questions of 150 marks. The exam is conducted in online mode and candidates need to complete the paper in a duration of 150 minutes. CTET 2024 Syllabus
CTET syllabus 2024 is prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as per the NCTE guidelines. The CTET 2024 exam consist of two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET syllabus for Paper 1 includes topics from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies and CTET Paper 2 syllabus comprises topics from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Sciences. CTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
CTET 2024 eligibility criteria are different for selecting candidates for the post of teacher for Classes 1 to 5 and for Classes 6 to 8. Scroll down to know the educational qualification required by the candidates for both these sections.
Educational Qualification for Classes 1-5 Teachers (Paper 1)
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 percent marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam securing a minimum of 45 percent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 percent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration). OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with a minimum of 50 percent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Education (2 years duration). OR
- Bachelor’s degree with a BEd degree.
Educational Qualification for Classes 6-8 Teachers (Paper 2)
- Graduation degree and has passed or is appearing in the final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
- Graduation degree with 50 percent marks and has cleared or appeared in the final year exam of BEd. OR
- Graduation degree with 40 percent marks and has cleared or appeared in the final year exam of BEd, according to NCTE regulations. OR

CTET 2024 Exam Centre
The exam centers for CTET 2024 will be allotted by the CBSE on the basis of preferences chosen by the candidates. Along with the official notification, the CBSE publishes the list of CTET exam center cities. Candidates will be required to choose four exam centers in order of their preferences while submitting the CTET application form for 2024 . Candidates need to make their choice of exam centers carefully, as the CBSE does not entertain any request for a change of center later under any circumstances.

CTET 2024 Answer Key
The CBSE will release the provisional CTET 2024 Answer Key on the official website at ctet.nic.in. Therefore, it provides an opportunity for the candidates to challenge or raise objections to the provisional answer key. The subject experts will assess all the challenges received by the candidates and then finally release the CTET 2024 answer key. The CTET 2024 result will be announced on the basis of the final answer keys.
CTET 2024 Result
After the CTET examination, the CBSE announces the results. The CTET result will be declared around four weeks from the date of the examination.
CTET 2024 Cut Off
CTET cut-off 2024 is the minimum qualifying mark that candidates need to obtain in order to clear the exam. The CBSE does not fix the CTET cut off marks; candidates need to obtain the minimum qualifying marks to pass the exam. According to the CTET qualifying marks 2024 fixed by the CBSE, the General category candidates need to obtain a minimum of 60 per cent marks and reserved category candidates need to obtain 55 per cent marks to clear the exam.
CTET 2024 MockTest
CTET 2024 Mock Test is one of the best ways to prepare for the CTET exam. In order to make candidates familiar with the process of attempting the paper online, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the online CTET mock test link. Practising CTET mock tests helps candidates learn from their mistakes and formulate strategies accordingly. Attempting CTET question papers and mock tests will give candidates a real-exam experience of the exam and help in improving their weak areas and enhancing time management skills. Candidates can take the mock test by visiting the official website. Candidates can even visit the Test Practice Centres (TPC) set up by the CBSE to attempt the CTET 2024 mock test.
