DBE online Re-mark/Re-check service

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) is providing an online service for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) candidates to request a re-mark or re-check of examination scripts.

This online service will support the current manual process in order to enhance DBE service delivery to candidates.

NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE (NSC) RE-MARK, RE-VIEW & RE-CHECK  ACCESS AND REGISTRATION PROCESS

In order to request for a re-mark or re-check service, candidates must first register on the e-Gov portal at www.eservices.gov.za to create a personal account. This account will allow the candidate to log in using their password and usernames to access the service. Candidates who have already made use of the online e-Registration do not have to create a new personal account, but they should use the same account to access the e-Gov portal.

Information also appears on the reverse side of the Statement of Results.

 

Support process:

The following support options are available to provide assistance to the candidates:

  • An “Online Help” is available to guide candidates on how to request a service using the system;
  • An e-Gov Support Helpdesk for application assistance; and
  • “Contact Us” when candidates require DBE assistance.

It’s important to note that you will need to create a profile on the eServices website to request a matric exam remark or rewrite. You will also be required to pay a fee when requesting a remark or recheck.

How much does it cost to remark NSC exam?

Remark: R110.00
Re-check: R27.00

Viewing of scripts may only be done after a re-mark or re-check of results. The closing date for applications is 7 days after the release of re-marking or re-check results. The fee for viewing is R212.00

How do I get my remark results online?

  1. Go to the Department of Basic Education (DBE) website.
  2. Click on the button for examination results.
  3. Click on the NSC exam results.
  4. You will be asked to put in your examination number.
  5. More personal information may be required.
  6. Click the search button.
  7. Your Matric results should appear here

 

HOW TO COMBINE A MATRIC FAILED RESULT

Individuals who wrote matric in more than one examination can apply to combine their results. If you wrote matric in more than one examination sitting and you want to combine your credits to qualify for a National Senior Certificate (NSC), you must apply for a combination of the result to obtain a matric certificate.
