SANTS APPLICATION, ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION PROCESS
Application
Applications can be submitted online, per email or per mail/ fax. Please choose one of the following methods to apply for admission:
Online
Please follow the next 4 steps to apply online for admission:
Step 1: Visit SANTS’ website at www.sants.co.za, select How to apply, followed by Online Application Form.
Step 2: Complete the online application form as required.
Step 3: Attach the following documents at the bottom of the online application form as indicated:
- Certified copy of identification document (ID); note that a driver’s licence is not accepted;
- Certified copy of your highest qualification (senior certificate/Grade 12 certificate/ relevant school leaving qualifications/certificates);
- Copy of the proof of the non- refundable application fee of R250. Important to note: Use your ID number as reference when making a payment. Payment must only be made into SANTS’ bank account. No cash will be accepted by SANTS or its representatives.
Step 4: Select and click on the Submit button to complete your application for admission.
Email
Please follow the next 4 steps to submit your application per email:

- Completed application form;

Step 4: Submit your application form, certified documents and proof of the non- refundable application fee payment to SANTS’ Administration Department per:

1.2 Admission
All applications that meet the requirements above will be evaluated against the relevant admission requirements as is relevant toeach programme and offered by SANTS. The outcome will be communicated to applicants in writing. Successful applicants will receive conditional admissionto the programme for which they applied. The conditions for admission will be clearly listed in this letter. This letter will allow applicants to apply for student loans and bursaries.
The applicant must complete and sign the Acceptance of Admission Formaccompanying the conditional admission letter and return it to SANTS with documentary proof that the conditions stipulated in the conditional admission letter have been met.
1.3 Registration
On receiving the Acceptance of Admission Formand proof that the conditions stipulated in the conditional admission letter have been met the applicant will be registered as a student at SANTS and notified of the registration in writing.
Please note that the number of applications received by far outnumbers the spaces available at the institution. Therefore, meeting the minimum requirements for the applicationdoes not guarantee admission to the institution.
SANTS Admission Requirements
with admission to Bachelor degree studies with:
• 50% for Home Language;
• 40% for English First Additional Language.
b. Completed Senior Certificate with university (complete) exemption with:
• 50% for Home Language;
• 40% for English First Additional Language.
c. National Certificate Vocational (NCV) level 4 with:
• 70% or above for Home Language, First Additional Language; and
• 60% or above for four vocational subjects.
d. Diploma in Grade R Teaching (NQF 6; Minimum Credits of 360).
e. National Professional Diploma in Education (NPDE) with Foundation Phase specialization with an overall percentage of 65%.
f. Senior Certificate/National Senior Certificate with conditional admission through mature age exemption:
• If it includes Home Language, English First Additional Language and Mathematics; or
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) which proves competence in the previous point above.
g. Recognition of Prior Learning proving equivalence to any of the above linked to historical or conditional admission through mature age exemption.
SANTS ACCREDITATION AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION
SANTS Private Higher Education Institution is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training until 31 December 2026 as a Private Higher Education Institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997. The following accredited Initial Teacher Education programmes are offered: Diploma in Grade R Teaching; Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching; and Bachelor of Education in Intermediate Phase Teaching programmes.
Diploma in Grade R Teaching
A new Diploma in Grade R Teaching programme, with CHE accreditation number H/PR148/E013CAN which is aligned with the amended Minimum Requirements for Teacher Education Qualifications (Gazetted 19 February 2015) has been phased in as from January 2024. The DHET approved and recognised this qualification for employment purposes and placed on a Relative Education Qualification Value (REQV) 13. The former Diploma in Grade R Teaching, with CHE accreditation number H/PR148/E008CAN, is in the process of being phased out by SANTS. This qualification remains a Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) approved and recognised qualification for employment in public schools in South Africa. Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching
