Program Overview

Who Can Apply
You need a Grade 12 certificate to qualify. A National Diploma or Degree is required in one of these fields: Cost and Management Accounting, Internal Auditing, Financial Accounting (BCom), or Economics. The municipality prefers candidates who live in the area, are between 21 and 35 years old, and come from previously disadvantaged groups. You must be unemployed to apply.
What Interns Will Do
Interns work in the Budget and Treasury or Internal Audit units. They gain real-world experience in municipal finance. Tasks include completing assignments, studying financial policies, and training under mentors. The program builds technical skills and prepares you for public finance careers.
