The Wits University Application | Admission Portal is created for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Direct entry, Staff, remedial, part-time fresh, and returning students of the Institution to create an account or log in to perform certain academic actions at ease.
With a single point of access and a hub for all applications, information, and material, the Wits University portal also provides an engaging student experience.
A student portal is a term that refers to the login page where students can enter their username and password to receive access to an educational organization’s programs as well as other learning resources and information. For example, a student enrolled in an online certification program can utilize a student portal to access online course materials maintained on the school’s servers, such as articles, lectures, and videos.

How To Access Wits University Application Portal 2026
To apply, go to www.wits.ac.za/applications/
- You may apply for a maximum of three programmes (order of choice does not matter).
- Do you meet the admission requirements for your degree of choice?
- Apply before the closing date.
- Apply using your names as they appear on your ID book/card or passport (do not use initials or nicknames).
- If you apply for two programmes within one Faculty, you are advised to apply for one programme in a less restricted faculty (e.g. Humanities, Commerce or Science).
- Try to keep your study options open, especially when applying for programmes in faculties such as Health Sciences or Engineering.
- Do not enter the duration of the programme. You are applying to go into 1st year of study.
- In accordance with the POPI Act, applicants are required to complete their own applications and accept the University’s legal declaration of indemnity and undertaking. The University will not engage with third-party agents facilitating applications on behalf of applicants.
Closing Dates
- 30 June – Faculty of Health Sciences (all programmes); Bachelor of Architectural Studies; Bachelor of Audiology, Bachelor of Speech-Language Pathology; BA Film and TV
- 30 September – All other University programmes
- 30 September – Residence applications
Note – Once the Wits University Admission Application Portal is closed, new applications will not be submitted. So register now while the applications are still ongoing.
