BOCMA is a public entity set up under the National Water Act. It manages water resources in the Breede-Olifants catchment area. Key tasks include sustainable water management, protecting river systems, planning water allocation, aiding municipalities and farms, and boosting water efficiency. Available Internship Fields
BOCMA provides spots in three main areas.
Water Resources Management (WRM) – 10 Positions
You need a Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources Management, Environmental Science, or related fields. A BSc Honours in Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry also works. Interns here handle water quality checks, environmental rules, and sustainability efforts.
Water Resource Planning – Hydrology / Geology – 2 Positions
A Master’s degree in Hydrology, Hydrogeology, or Geology is required. This role involves technical modeling and planning for future water needs.
Water Resource Planning – Engineering – 2 Positions
Applicants need a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Agricultural Engineering. Interns support infrastructure projects and water system development.
Duration and Stipend
The internship lasts 24 months on a fixed-term contract. Monthly pay is R7,500 for NQF Level 7-8 qualifications or R10,000 for NQF Level 9.
Minimum Requirements
