The streamer’s launched a scholarship programme titled the Netflix Creative Equity Scholarship Fund and applications are open for eligible students who are studying at the partner institutions listed below.

Who can apply

The scholarships are open to students who’ve been accepted for a course of study related to TV, film and/or audio-visual in the 2024 academic year.

You need to be a final year undergraduate student or a one year postgraduate student.

You need to have achieved a minimum of 60% in your latest academic results.

Applications are open to students from countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region who are studying at these places in South Africa:

AACA Film and Acting School
AFDA
Boston Media House
Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)
City Varsity
Durban University of Technology (DUT)
Tshwane University of Technology (TUT)
University of Cape Town (UCT)
University of Johannesburg (UJ)
University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN)
University of Pretoria (UP)
University of the Witwatersrand (Wits)

Students from South Africa and these countries are eligible:

Angola
Botswana
Comoros
Democratic Republic of Congo
Eswatini
Lesotho
Madagascar
Malawi
Mauritius
Mozambique
Namibia
Seychelles
Tanzania
Zambia
Zimbabwe
