Section 1: CANDIDATE INFORMATION & COURSE SELECTION

SECTION 2: DOCUMENTS TO ACCOMPANY APPLICATION FORM
- All candidates applying for BA in Fashion – Design elective or HC in Fashion – Design elective, need to complete and submit the Design Assessment.
- A certified copy of the candidate’s Gr.11 Final results or NSC (Final Gr.12) or any other higher qualification documents.
Higher Certificate in Fashion Retail
- Minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum of 40% for English as a first or additional language
- Pre-2008, a Senior Certificate (SC) with a minimum of 40% for English as a first or second language
- National Certificate (Vocational) with a minimum of 40% for English as a first or second language and no additional specified subjects prescribed at the further education exit level
Higher Certificate in Digital Marketing Practice
- Minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum of 40% for English as a first or additional language
- International candidates with foreign qualifications, must have their qualifications evaluated by South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) – http://www.saqa.org.za/ and submit the outcome.
- A certified copy of the candidate’s ID/passport
- A certified copy of the account payer’s ID/passport

SECTION 3: ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Higher Certificate in Fashion (electives in Design and Media)
- Minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum of 40% for English as a first or additional language
- Pre-2008, a Senior Certificate (SC) with a minimum of 40% for English as a first or second language
- National Certificate (Vocational) with a minimum of 40% for English as a first or second language and no additional specified subjects prescribed at the further education exit level
·  An admissions test is required for the Design elective for diagnostic purposes
- Pre-2008, a Senior Certificate (SC) with a minimum of 40% for English as a first or second language
- National Certificate (Vocational) with a minimum of 40% for English as a first or second language and no additional specified subjects prescribed at the further education exit level
Bachelor of Arts in Fashion (electives in Design, Media and Buying)Â Candidates who matriculated pre-end 2007 require:
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with admission to Bachelor’s studies and a minimum of 45% for English as a first or additional language. A Bachelor’s pass on the NSC requires an achievement of a minimum of 50% in four 20-credit subjects (excluding Life Orientation).
- Candidates with a NSC applying for the Buying elective further require a minimum of 50% in Mathematics or a minimum of 70% in Mathematical Literacy
- An admission test is required for the design elective for diagnostic purposes
OR
- A National Certificate (Vocational) with a minimum of 60% in three fundamental subjects including English, and a minimum of 70% in four vocational subjects
- An admission test is required for the design elective for diagnostic purposes
Candidates who matriculated from 2008 onwards require:
- A Senior Certificate (SC) with endorsement and a minimum of 45% for English as a first or second language
- Candidates with a SC applying for the Buying elective require a minimum of an E in Higher Grade Mathematics or a D in Standard Grade Mathematics
- An admission test is required for the design elective for diagnostic purposes
Bachelor of Commerce in Fashion
Candidates who matriculated pre-end 2007 require:
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with admission to Bachelor’s studies and a minimum of 45% for English as a first or additional language. A Bachelor’s pass on the NSC requires an achievement of a minimum of 50% in four 20-credit subjects (excluding Life Orientation).
- Candidates with a NSC further require a minimum of 55% in Mathematics or a minimum of 75% in Mathematical Literacy. Candidates who do not achieve the minimum Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy requirements, but have achieved a minimum of 50% in Accounting may be admitted for study.
- Candidates with a NSC must produce a National Benchmark Test (NBT) for diagnostic purposes.
OR
- National Certificate (Vocational) with a minimum of 60% in three fundamental subjects including English, and a minimum of 70% in four vocational subjects
- Candidates with a NSC must produce a National Benchmark Test (NBT) for diagnostic purposes.
Candidates who matriculated from 2008 onwards require:
- A Senior Certificate (SC) with endorsement and a minimum of 45% for English as a first or second language
- Candidates with a SC require a minimum of an E in Higher Grade Mathematics or a D in Standard Grade Mathematics
Bachelor of Business Administration in Fashion Retail
Candidates who matriculated pre-end 2007 require:
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with admission to Bachelor’s studies with a minimum of 45% for English as a first or additional language. A Bachelor’s pass on the NSC requires an achievement of a minimum of 50% in four 20-credit subjects (excluding Life Orientation).
OR
- A National Certificate (Vocational) with a minimum of 60% in three fundamental subjects including English, and a minimum of 70% in four vocational subjects
Candidates who matriculated from 2008 onwards require:
- A Senior Certificate (SC) with endorsement and a minimum of 45% for English as a first or second language
Bachelor of Arts Honours in Fashion
- Minimum admission requirement is an undergraduate degree in a cognate field, including: fashion, buying, merchandising, planning, business, supply chain, marketing, or design.
- Candidates must have achieved an overall grade average of 65% across all their subjects at the undergraduate level
