New Big Brother-style reality channel Ultimate Love: your know-it-all pack
Zafinder.com team is pleased to keep you informed about New Big Brother-style reality channel Ultimate Love: your know-it-all pack
he new Big Brother/Love Island knock-off channel Ultimate Love starts on DStv this Sunday (9 February 2020) and I’ve been quizzy to see what it’s all about considering it’s on notorious Channel 198.
The channel goes live in South Africa at 20h30 (CAT) on Sunday (9 February), on these packages: Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Family and Access.
It’s also available on GOtv Max and the Plus packages on channels 29/129/329 (Channel 129 in Ghana and channel 329 in Uganda).
The format follows 16 Nigerian guys and gals who move in together to find their “Ultimate Love”.
They’ll be watched by cameras 24-hours-a-day as they engage in various “activities to test their compatibility as couples”.
There’s no explanation as to what these activities are exactly but the tone and pics seem to emphasise romance instead of sex – probably DStv trying to avoid the abuse and sexual assault controversies surrounding Big Brother over the years.
The contestants will also be watched by a “resident counsellor” who goes by the name of Aunty – she advises, counsels and supports them as they try to find their ideal partners.
She’ll end up doing a lot of soothing of wounded ego meltdowns and cry-babies too, as the reality of evictions sets in.
Each week viewers vote out their least favourite couple, until one couple wins.
The winning couple wins… wait for the madness… a lavish traditional wedding and a fully furnished home if they commit to getting married.
What could possibly go wrong?
I mean really now…. obviously the winning couple’s going to want the home, especially seeings as a winning couple who don’t want to get married clearly win zilch.
They’ll very likely agree to get married just to win it, but what happens when if they end up loathing each other and split?
We all know this is a very high probability in a reality show aftermath so the series better have an Uncle lined-up with Biggo legal credentials.
The bootings and nominations will be happening live on Sundays, at 20h30 in South Africa – at 19h30 in West Africa.
The live shows will be simulcast on these channels too:
Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Channel 151)
Africa Magic Urban (DStv Channel 153)
Africa Magic Family (DStv Channel 154 and GOtv channel 2)
There’s also a weekly highlights show on Saturdays on:
Africa Magic Showcase at 19h00 WAT/20h00 CAT
Africa Magic Urban at 22h00 WAT/23h00 CAT
Africa Magic Family at 22h30/23h30 CAT
It runs until 5 April.
Will you be tuning in?
