What is XAT Exam?

The XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test), a national-level management entrance test, is administered by XLRI, Jamshedpur for admission to MBA/PGDM programs. In addition to XLRI and 10 other XAMI member institutes, over 1,000 B-schools accept XAT scores for admission to their post-graduate management programs. The XAT test contains 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) covering themes such as decision-making, verbal and logical reasoning, numeric aptitude and data interpretation, and general knowledge. Male candidates normally score about 95 percentile on the XAT for the XLRI PGDM-BM program, while female candidates typically score around 92 percentile.

XAT Answer Key 2024

The preliminary XAT answer key has been released in the form of a response sheet. Candidates can download their XAT response sheet and answer key 2023 from the online website by using their login credentials.

The XAT 2023 final answer key will be released by the second week of January, after an analysis of all the objections raised by students.

• Enter user ID and password
• Click on ‘candidate response to generate answer key and question paper’
• XAT answer key will be displayed
• Click on the download icon and save it as a PDF

XAT Result Announcement

XAT result 2023 will be announced in the third week of January. Candidates will be able to download their scorecards from the official XAT and XLRI websites. Given below is a brief description of XAT result download process:

• Open the XAT ONLINE website: xatonline.in
• Click on ‘XAT 2023 scorecard’ tab
• Enter your XAT User ID and date of birth and click on ‘login’
• Download the XAT result cum scorecard and save a copy as PDF

XAT Cut-Offs 2023

XLRI Selection Process Through XAT 2023

XLRI, Jamshedpur admission through XAT includes three stages: shortlisting of candidates, group discussion & personal interview, and final selection.

Step 1: Shortlisting of candidates

After the exam, candidates will be shortlisted for group discussion and personal interview rounds of XLRI, Jamshedpur on the basis of their XAT results.

Step 2: Group Discussion and Personal Interview

XLRI, Jamshedpur will announce the group discussion and personal interview schedule by the end of January for the selected candidates. The admission round will be held in various cities and the candidates will have to confirm their interview city online on the official website of XLRI within the stipulated time limit. 

Step 3: Final Selection

Each candidate will be evaluated on the basis of their XAT 2023 score, GD/PI performance, academic history, and other parameters for preparing the final merit list. Selected candidates will be called to complete the admission formalities.

Selection procedure of other institutes accepting XAT scores

Institutes accepting XAT scores for admission to their MBA/PGDM programmes, conduct their own application and admission process. While some institutes open their registration window much before the XAT exam is conducted, others start their registration process after the XAT result is announced.

XAT Preparation Tips & Strategy 2023

Ideally, XAT preparation 2023 should last six to nine months. XAT is one of the more difficult MBA entry tests among its peers, requiring focused time and effort. Decision Making, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge are the four components.

In XAT, it is critical to provide equal attention to all four parts because sectional cut-offs play a significant role in admission to XLRI, Jamshedpur. So, divide your study time evenly between these areas. Begin by developing conceptual clarity in each subject. You might wish to start by looking at the topics you’re already familiar with. • Focus on completing XAT syllabus first and then move to solve XAT mock tests. Practice at least 25-30 mock tests for best performance
