AFCAT Recruitment 2024-2025

AFCAT Recruitment 2024: Indian Air Force (IAF) released AFCAT 1 recruitment 2024 notice on December 1. The short notice was released on November 25. AFCAT 1 2024 application online link is available from December 1 to 30. The online test will be conducted on February 24, 25, and 26, 2022.

AFCAT 2 recruitment 2024 notice will be released in June 2024. The short notice for AFCAT 2 2024 will be released in May 2024. AFCAT exam is conducted to select eligible candidates as Class-I Gazetted Officers in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical). AFCAT Full Form

The full form of AFCAT is Ait Force Common Admission Test. This test is conducted for the aspirants interested in applying for the different posts in Indian Air Force. Candidates will need to qualify in all the eligibility criteria to appear for the exam.

AFCAT Eligibility 2024

IAF prescribes AFCAT eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, and nationality. The eligibility criteria are different for different posts. The basic educational qualification is Graduation. For the Flying branch, candidates must be between 20 and 24 years. For Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) branch, the age of candidates should be between 20 and 26 years.

The application form for AFCAT exam will be available on the official website. It will be released soon. Candidates must fill in the details like name, father’s name, mother’s name, signature, photograph, etc.

Step 1: AFCAT Registration

  • Visit the official website of the Indian Air Force – afcat.cdac.in.

  • Click on the ‘submit’ button. A new registration ID & password will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID

  • Use the ID and password to fill in the application form

How To Fill Afcat Application Form 2024

AFCAT application form is released online on the official website. The application fee is INR 250 for all categories and can be paid online. While filling out the AFCAT application form, candidates are required to enter their Aadhaar Card number. While, Aadhaar Card is optional for candidates belonging to Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, and Meghalaya. The application process comprises the following steps:

AFCAT Nationality

In order to be eligible for the AFCAT 2024 exam, candidates will have to be a citizen of India according to the Indian Citizenship Act, of 1985.

AFCAT Age Limit 2024

The minimum age limit to apply for the flying branch is 20 years. The maximum age for the same is 24 years. For ground duty, the full age is 26 years. However, there are age relaxations for the reserved categories under which one can clear the AFCAT exam in 16 attempts.

AFCAT Eligibility 2024: Marital Status

  • Candidates must belong age limit of below 25 years and must be unmarried
  • Candidates who are divorcees/ widows below 25 years are not eligible
  • Candidates above 25 years of age who are married, during their training period will not be allowed to live with family.

AFCAT Number of Attempts

As per the information, candidates for the flying branch will be able to attempt 6 times within the age group of 20-23 years. After 23, it will be difficult to apply as the selection process is a bit lengthy. Candidates will exceed the age limit.

For Technical & Non-Technical Branches, candidates can attempt up to 10 times. There is no restriction on the number of attempts.

AFCAT Physical and Medical Standards

For the AFCAT exam, the physical standards are needed to be followed. The minimum chest circumference recommended is 77 cm. The minimum Height of the candidates applying for flying branches should be 162.5 cm. The details of recommended Sitting Height, Leg Length, and thigh length are as follows:

AFCAT 2024 Exam Pattern

AFCAT Written Exam consists of two sections- Section 1 with 100 questions and Section 2 with 50 questions.

  • Every correct answer carries 3 marks
  • Every incorrect answer carries a negative marking of -1.

AFCAT Interview

The second stage of the AFCAT exam is AFSB or Air Force Selection Board Interview takes place for five days in various AFSB centers. These Interviews are a little tricky as it evaluates candidates’ physical as well as mental strength. The AFSB Interview process also includes Psychological tests and Group tasks. The types of tests that take place in five days are Screening tests, Psychological tests, Group Tests, and Board Conferences.

AFCAT SSC

Here are the following points for AFCAT SSC:

  • AFCAT Short Service Commission (SSC) will be for both men and women
  • The job post offers officers fourteen years from the commissioning date
  • The initial tenure for SSC of both Technical & Non-Technical Ground Duty Branches would be 10 years.
  • Extension of up to 4 years may be granted based on the availability of vacancies, service requirements, sustainability, etc.
  • Officers under SSC will not receive any pension

AFCAT Answer Key

IAF releases the answer keys to allow the students to calculate the marks for their written exams. the Answer key is released after the exam is successfully conducted. The correct answer carries one mark. The wrong answer carries a 01 mark. For unanswered questions, there is no deduction of any marks. AFCAT 2024 Career Growth and Promotion

Candidates recruited in various job posts under IAF will have good career growth. Candidates will get promotions according to their performances. Candidates will have to appear for the departmental exams to get a promotion. The following ranks are given for promotion in various posts:

Candidates can start their careers as Flying Officers and reach the rank of Air Marshal.

Junior Level:

  • Flying Officer: This is the first rank given to the employees who join IAF after training
  • Flying Lieutenant: This is the next rank after the flying officer

Executive Level:

  • Squadron Leader: this is the first rank of the executive level where one will supervise the junior level employees
